The football program at Speakerville High School is built on a foundation of over 100 years of tradition. Football teams at SHS are known for discipline, hard work, and commitment. It is through these principles that a team, a "football family," is built. Founded and built in 1891, SHS is the oldest high school in the state still on its original site.
It still functions as a comprehensive public high school and the first “Unified High School” formed from 3 elementary school districts. The Speakerville High School Eagle football program has been around as long as the school and has one of the longest histories of prep football.
The 78-acre campus allows room for top-notch athletic facilities, including an on-campus stadium that seats 5500, a large, fully-equipped weight room, a large coaches office and dressing room, a year-round varsity locker room that is large and open, a separate freshman locker room, a team meeting room, and an office for the academic adviser/nutrition specialist.
